January 21, 2002 our story begins on a dance floor where I saw Ride for the first time. Actually, I noticed Ride earlier that night roaming around the club with a little petite blond and didn't think much about it. When he approached me later that evening I gave him a glare and said "Didn't I see you with another girl earlier?". . .Ride "ughh, no that's not my girlfriend; it's my friend's wife. We're here as a group." " ohhhhh, ok." I responded smiling, and we haven't been apart since.
Ride was the only boyfiend I had ever had. Growing up I was not allowed to date and then in college, I never met "boyfriend" material type guys. We had blast while dating enjoying activities like rock climbing, playing volleyball, watching movies, gambling, camping, and of course CANCUN! Ride was the most understanding boyfriend I could ever imagine. Being an independent person for so long, it was hard to be in a relationship sometimes, but we managed to overcome it and grew closer together as a couple.
December 13 2003, Ride told me to dress warm for the night. I remember it being f-in cold when we first arrived at the Botanic gardens. As soon as the doors opened, Ride grabbed my hand and quickly whisked me away from the crowd. The next thing I knew we were on a bridge covered in white lights under a glowing blue weeping willow tree. Ride got down on one knee and pulled out "the ring". Of course I cried and still swear to the day I said "Yes", Ride still swears all I did was start crying and put the ring on...I said yes.
